SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. (April 27, 2010) - Pre-entry is now open online at www.AHRAdragRacing.com for Jr. Dragsters at both upcoming AHRA events in Texas - the Nitro Showdown in Midland May 15-16, and the 2010 Reunion Tour at San Antonio Dragway May 22-23.
AHRA Jr. Dragsters compete in three classes - Beginner, Advanced, and Pro Junior - and each is limited to the first 32 entries. Entry fee for each driver is $50.00, and the payout for each class is 80 percent.
The Beginners Class includes drivers age 8-9 with 1/8 mile Elapsed Times restricted to 12.90 seconds and slower. Advanced Class drivers include age 10-17 and is restricted to 1/8 mile ET's of 8.90 and slower. Pro Juniors include drivers age 12 and over with a minimum of one year active licensed experience and a restricted 1/8 mile ET of 7.90 seconds and slower.
"Jr. Dragsters are the training grounds for all of our other classes, and we're committed to providing a safe and exciting environment for youth to learn about drag racing," Troy Moe, AHRA CEO, said.
Drivers are encouraged to enter quickly, as the fields are first-come, first served and will close once 32 competitors are entered. Entry forms and details are available online at www.AHRAdragRacing.com.
