LAS VEGAS- The 2011 Super Chevy Show at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway yielded various results this past weekend as Chevy enthusiasts enjoyed an action-packed event full of drag racing, car shows, autocross, a swap meet, Revell Make ‘N Take activities, and more. The event, presented by GM Performance Division, began with a cruise from L.A to Total Cost Involved across from The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday of the Show.
On Saturday of the event, Mike Maggio won in the Pro Street final against Ed Thornton. Maggio also became the first Pacific Street Car Association (PSCA) Pro Street racer to break the five-second barrier. The new PSCA record was set during the final qualifying session of the Super Chevy Show. Maggio's 1970 Camaro ran a 5.973 elapsed time at 245.54 miles per hour.
