NHRA FULL THROTTLE DRAG RACING SERIES BROADCASTS TO A WORLDWIDE AUDIENCE

NHRA continues relationships with ESPN International, American Forces Network and TSN for 2012

GLENDORA, Calif. (Feb. 3, 2012) – Whether in the Pacific Rim, Africa, Latin America, Canada, Europe or the Middle East, watching the fastest, most powerful motorsport on the planet, NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing, is as easy as turning to one of NHRA’s three international broadcast partners: ESPN International, TSN-Canada or the American Forces Network.

Today’s announcement extends what has been a long-term relationship for NHRA with all three entities. ESPN International is broadcast in 169 countries and territories to more than 44.7 million viewers. TSN has been NHRA’s exclusive broadcast partner in Canada and plans to broadcast nearly 70 hours of final-round coverage of 2012 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series events. American Forces Network, in 175 countries and U.S. territories, will continue to make NHRA programming available to U.S. Armed Forces television stations outside the United States. Combined, NHRA reaches 207 countries and territories across the globe with a potential reach of 51.4 million households.

Of course, NHRA’s international reach goes beyond its broadcast partners. NHRA sanctions seven member tracks in Canada, offering many of its popular grassroots sportsman racing programs. NHRA’s Canadian member tracks are in: Luskville, Quebec (Luskville Dragway); Napierville, Quebec (Napierville Dragway); Cayuga, Ontario (Toronto Motorsports Park); Sparta, Ontario (St. Thomas Dragway Park); Medicine Hat, Alberta (M.H.D.R.A. Dragstrip); Mission, British Columbia (Mission Raceway); and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (Saskatchewan International Raceway). Holding NHRA Member Track status in Puerto Rico is Puerto Rico International Speedway in Salinas, Puerto Rico.

In 2010, NHRA announced the creation of NHRA Worldwide Network which enables drag racing facilities around the world to conduct events under the NHRA banner. Since inception, Yas Drag Racing Centre, on Yas Island off the coast of Abu Dhabi in United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, Kingdome of Bahrain, have joined NHRA Worldwide Network.
