O'FALLON, MO (October 3, 2011) – The final race of the 2011 American Drag Racing League (ADRL) Tour continues to get bigger.
On Monday, the world's premier eighth-mile drag racing league announced that Summit Racing Equipment has been added as a presenting sponsor for the season-ending World Finals at Texas Motorplex, making the official name of the event the LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals VII presented by Summit Racing Equipment.
The three-day extravaganza takes place Oct. 21-23 in Ennis, Texas and Summit Racing is eager to be on board for what is expected to be one of the biggest events in ADRL history.
The announcement also comes on the heels of a highly-successful Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags V, which was completed on Sept. 24 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
"This is a great opportunity to show our continued support to the ADRL racers. The competition at our ADRL Summit Racing Ohio Drags V at Summit Racing Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio was incredible and to be able to come onboard as the presenting sponsor of the LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals VII is very exciting," Summit Racing Motorsports and Event Manager Jim Greenleaf said.
"This will be an outstanding three days of ADRL competition that will include the 'Battle For The Belts' and the crowning of the 2011 world champions."
The LenMar Motorsports ADRL World Finals VII presented by Summit Racing Equipment continues to take shape as a landmark event in the ADRL's seven-year history.
Along with the individual event that will be contested, the "Battle For The Belts," featuring the top eight competitors in six classes, will be the featured event on Saturday. World championships, along with event wins, will be officially awarded on Sunday to the points champion in Pro Extreme, Pro Nitrous, Extreme 10.5, Pro Extreme Motorcycle, Extreme Pro Stock and Pro Junior Dragster.
The Fourth Annual Racer Appreciation and Awards Gala also takes place on Oct. 23.
The announcement also furthers the strong partnership between the ADRL and Summit Racing Equipment, the world's leading supplier of high performance automotive parts.
Summit Racing is the official high-performance source of the ADRL and a major contingency sponsor in all ADRL classes.
In addition, Summit Racing is the official sponsor of the ADRL's Top Sportsman class and also serves as a sponsor for the Extreme Pro Stock team of Pete Berner, Pro Nitrous driver Rickie Jones and Top Sportsman racer Marco Abruzzi.
Now, Summit Racing will be linked to the biggest event on the 2011 ADRL Tour as well.
