SILVER DOLLAR RACEWAY WELCOMES NHRA SUMMIT SERIES
REYNOLDS, Ga. (September 30, 2011) – Silver Dollar Raceway welcomed the NHRA Summit Racing Series Southeast Division Finals to the track today with nearly 400 racers representing 14 tracks from states throughout the region. More than $20,000 is up for grabs in purse and contingencies for the event with racers in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, and Pro Bike battling for both team and individual honors.
Opening day consisted of time trials for all competitors with eliminations set to begin on Saturday at 9 a.m. Saturday’s winners - NHRA Southeast Division Champions, will advance to Pomona, Calif., in November where they will face off with the winners from the other six NHRA Division for the Summit Racing Series National Championship and a purse of over $100,000.
The team from South Georgia Motorsports Park are the defending champions along with Philip Owens in Super Pro; Gary Williams, Pro; Jimmy Santos, Sportsman; and Mike Lakoskey, Pro Bike who won individual championships last year.
