MANDATORY USE OF ELECTROMOTION SHUTOFF RETURNS AT TOPEKA

GLENDORA, Calif. (April 8, 2010) – NHRA officials announced this week that the Electromotion Shutoff Receiver will be reinstated by the NHRA Tech Dept. for mandatory use starting at the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Summer Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka, May 21-23.

The decision to reinstate the device is based on successful testing by several NHRA teams of an optional override system developed by Electromotion. This system will override the Shutoff Receiver portion of the Shutoff Device if the driver has deployed the parachutes before reaching the first transmitter located on the racetrack. Several different configurations of the override system have been developed to work with the different types of parachute deployment systems.

The Shutoff Receiver override system is optional; the Shutoff Receiver is mandatory.
