GLENDORA, Calif. (July 27, 2011) – The Grand Ballroom at the Hollywood & Highland Center has been selected as the location for this year’s NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series Awards Ceremony, it was announced today by officials from the world’s largest motorsports sanctioning organization.
The 2011 NHRA Full Throttle Awards Ceremony will take place on Monday, Nov. 14 and will be broadcast on the Web at NHRA.com and NHRA’s You Tube home page beginning Wednesday, Nov. 16. Last year, the full event was available to fans via the Internet with considerable success.
Situated in the heart of Hollywood, the popular tourist area Hollywood & Highland attracts more than 15 million visitors per year. This one-of-a-kind high profile venue combines the best in retail, fine dining and unique entertainment venues with the vibrant world of Hollywood, making it a hot spot for locals and a must see for tourists.
The historic Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and world renowned Kodak Theatre, which is home to The Academy Awards each year, are also found within the Hollywood & Highland Center. The center also includes more than 60 retailers, nine of L.A.’s finest restaurants, two hot nightclubs and Lucky Strike Lanes, a high tech and trendy bowling alley.
The invitation-only black-tie event, where NHRA will crown its Full Throttle Drag Racing Series world champions in all four professional categories, will feature a pre-event cocktail reception, a formal sit-down banquet, and an after party.
Guests will stay at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel features 640 sumptuously appointed rooms, including 33 luxury suites and an elegant Mid-Century Modern décor. The Grand Ballroom is located on the fifth level of the center is operated by famous chef and restaurateur, Wolfgang Puck. The popular venue draws A-list events, parties and conventions. Most notably, it is the site of the exclusive Governor’s Ball, following the Academy Awards ceremonies each year.
The after party will be held at one of the hottest spots in Hollywood, The Highlands Hollywood. It is a one of a kind nighttime experience featuring some of the best panoramic views of Hollywood.
