AUTOCROSS GOES BIG-TIME AT SUPER CHEVY IN SPOKANE

Super Chevy Show at Spokane County Raceway will be held July 29-31

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. (July 20, 2011) – Toyo Tires will once again have a huge part in the famous autocross events at the Super Chevy Show.

Autocross is a single car, timed course competition where drivers use mainly skill in the handling of the car instead of speed to maneuver a vehicle around a road course lined by traffic cones.

The autocross festivities are open to amateur and professional participants in a Chevy-bodied or Chevy-powered vehicle. There will be several categories for autocross participants of different levels to enter including a ladies category, novice and pro class. Winners will receive plaques for each category at the end of both Saturday and Sunday.

“Toyo Tires is proud to sponsor the autocross at the Super Chevy Show in Spokane,” said Stan Chen, manager of events and motorsports, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. “With the trend to improve handling on both early and late model muscle cars, autocrossing is a great way to show off both driver and car’s capabilities. Toyo Proxes ultra high performance tires are a natural fit for delivering optimum performance from these cars.”

This event will mark the first ever Super Chevy Show debut at Spokane County Raceway. General Manager Cindy Gibbs is very enthusiastic about the opportunity.

“We are all very excited to host the Super Chevy Show at Spokane County Raceway. These events are really wonderful because there is so much the series has to offer. Fans can enjoy many different activities, from drag racing, to car shows, to midway displays and for this event we will be working closely with Toyo Tires for our Autocross festivities. We are ready to get this action-packed show underway,” Gibbs said.
