REICHERT AND FERRO TAKE HOME THE WALLY FROM SILVER DOLLAR RACEWAY
REYNOLDS, Ga. (Oct. 18, 2010) – The Southeast Division Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series conclude at Silver Dollar Raceway with Bill Reichert, Owosso, Mich., and Mickey Ferro, Stamford, Conn., taking home the wins in Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car respectively.
Reichert faced off against Marty Thacker, Robinson, Ill. and posted a winning run of 5.360 seconds, 261.93 mph. Thacker drove to a 5.457 second, 264.96 mph lap for his runner up finish.
Ferro worked his way through the field and ran 5.599 seconds at 257.04 mph in his'10 Monte Carlo for a final round victory over Jay Payne, Claremont, Calif., who clocked in at 5.621 seconds, 256.60 mph.
Other racers visiting the winner’s circle this weekend were Scott Cashio, Ventress, La., in Comp Eliminator; Jake Sealey, Aiken, S.C., in Super Stock; Luke Bogacki, Carterville, Ill., in Super Comp; Jeff Strickland, Red Bay, Ala., in Stock Eliminator; Sherman Adcock Jr., Fortson, Ga., in Super Gas; and Mike Griggs, Ocala, Fla., in Super Street. In the division’s Top Sportsman class it was Ronnie Davis, Suwanee, Ga., taking the win while Kara Stricker, Mohnton, Pa., won in Top Dragster
