Bondurant Racing School to oversee Total Cost Involved Autocross event at Phoenix Super Chevy Show

PHOENIX (Oct. 16) -- The Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving is an industry leader in teaching racing skills to full-time competitors, celebrities, professionals and anyone who just wants to go fast.
Now participants of next weekend's Phoenix Super Chevy Show, scheduled Friday, Oct. 22-Sunday, Oct. 24 at Firebird International Raceway, will get to join the fun.

The driving school, widely known in the open wheel community for its expertise in teaching road racing skills, will design, execute and time all portions of the Phoenix Super Show's Autocross event, which is one of several attractions to the final Super Chevy Show of the season. Total Cost Involved, Wilwood Disc Brakes, and Currie Enterprises will host the road course-type event.

"Bob Bondurant's (racing school) has been located here at Firebird Raceway for over 20 years," said Firebird's Franki Buckman, who also noted that Bondurant instructors will also be providing hot laps to interested parties. "We thought including their expertise and instructors in our upcoming Total Cost Involved, Wilwood and Currie Enterprises Autocross portion of the Super Chevy Show would help add a level of excitement to the event and specifically to the Autocross and its participants."

Veteran autocross driver Mary Pozzi, who helped with the design of the Autocross course for the season-opening Las Vegas Super Chevy Show in April, is one competitor in particular who is excited about being involved with the Bondurant group.

"I'll be driving Total Cost Involved's Camaro and can't wait," Pozzi said. "If the car is anything like it was back in April, it should the one to shoot for.

"I know (the Bondurant group) has a mini-autocross as part of their school and that should be great."
The Autocross will not be the only draw to the Phoenix Super Show. Another big attraction will be the appearance of eight Nostalgia Funny Cars, which will be part of a night of fire with two qualifying session and a final-round race on Saturday night.

The weekend event will also feature sportsman racing, a car show, which includes the new Bowtie Boulevard, and a swap meet.
