Three drag race series part of weekend event at TMP's Cayuga Dragway
CAYUGA, ONTARIO (June 14, 2012) The third event in the 2012 season for the Pro Modified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series presented by Wiseco Performance Products will take place June 22-24 during the Canadian Nitro Nationals at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park.
Established in 2004, the PMRA presents the best in Pro Modified drag racing with cars obtaining over 240 mph in under six seconds down the quarter mile. Now in its fourth season, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series matches Top Dragster and Top Sportsman cars competing against each other with the finalists from each side racing to determine an event winner. And the PBSS, in its second season, pits Pro Bike motorcycles with Pro Sled snowmobiles.
Both the Quick 32 Sportsman Series and the PBSS race in an indexed, dial-in format using the full Christmas tree as other Sportsman classes, while the PMRA racers line up to a Pro Tree in true heads-up racing.
After two complete races this year, Jeff Roth of New Dundee, Ontario leads the PMRA Championship Point Award Series with one win to his credit and 590 points. Former three-time PMRA champ Bruce Boland of Hamilton, Ontario is next with 582 points, and recent winner Jack Grainy of North Tonawanda, New York has 576 points.
Leading the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts Championship Point Award Series Standings is Kevin Wicke of Stratford, Ontario with 500 points, with event winner Jeff Moser of Bamberg, Ontario second with 494 points and Mike Everitt, also of Stratford, third with 491 points.
Just off a recent win, John Orfanidis of Toronto, Ontario heads up the PBSS Championship Point Award Series Standings with 460 points, followed by Chris Bondi of Aurora, Ontario with 457 points, and tied with 418 points are the Beachville, Ontario team of Danny Staples and Kevin McKay, and Bob McDonald of Woodstock, Ontario.
