Meadors, Goodguys Racing Unleash “Pure Hell” on Super Chevy Sunday

Morrison, CO – Goodguys Rod & Custom Association President Marc Meadors drove the “Pure Hell2” ’69 Camaro Pro Mod to a popular win the “Super Chevy Sunday” event Sunday, August 21st at Bandimere Speedway outside Denver. It was the Goodguys Racing Team’s first victory this season running the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Division.

The “Pure Hell2” Camaro, built as a tribute to Rich Guasco’s legendary Northern California “Pure Hell” fuel altered, was stout right from the start of qualifying. An off-the-trailer 6.176 @ 234.21 landed the Goodguys team in the #2 qualifying spot, trailing only class leader Bret Williamson. It was on Sunday however the team shined the brightest.

During the opening round of eliminations, Meadors ran a 6.149 @ 234.78 to beat the ’57 Chevy Cameo of Dan Myers. The run held up for Low ET and Top Speed of the entire weekend. Meadors then dispatched Rod Burbage and his ’58 Corvette in the semi final with a 6.180 @ 233.92, before winning the event over Mark Loveall’s Dodge Viper with a 6.203 @ 233.24. The Goodguys Racing Team ran Low ET and Top Speed of every elimination round to put an exclamation point on their first win of the season.

“The drag racing God’s smiled on us today up here on the Mountain,” said Meadors after the race. “The car and the entire Goodguys Racing team worked perfectly this weekend. We had a good feeling as soon as we ran the .17 off the trailer. It only got better from there. I can’t thank my crew guys enough for all the hard work they put in to get this car to run down the track like a 3,000 horsepower bracket car.”

The Goodguys Racing Team is sponsored by Red Line Oil, Darren Mayer from DMPE, Tim McAmis Race Cars, Bradco Engineering and Bunker Race Cars for their generous sponsorships. The team members include Jason Bunker, Jeff Accacian, Billy and Andy Fereira and Cole Ruchonnet.
