GILA RIVER INDIAN COMMUNITY – Dec. 10, 2011 – Heading into Saturday's season finale of the Lucas Oil Off Road Series at Firebird International Raceway, several tight points races were yet to be decided: Here is a quick rundown of some of the championships yet to be determined:
Pro Lite–In the tightest points race of the series, Brian Deegan and Chris Brandt were locked in a four-point battle for the series championship heading into Saturday. Deegan grabbed a crucial extra point with the fastest qualification time of the class on Friday to claim the slim lead. CBS analyst Cameron Steele was third heading into the action.
Pro 2 – While Deegan faces a fierce battle in Pro Lite, in Pro 2 he merely needs to finish Saturday's race to claim the championship.
Super LIte – Three drivers enter Saturday's action with championship aspirations. Chad George, Patrick Clark and RJ Anderson were all separated by a mere 34 points heading into action. George leads the series with 626 points, while Clark follows at 614 and 592 points respectively.
Unlimited UTV – Anderson finds himself locked in another showdown in this category, holding a 17-point lead over Robert Vanbeekum.
SR1 – Valley racer Corry Weller needs only to complete her race to win the championship.
