NHRA AND McDONALD'S TEAM UP FOR MAC TOOLS U.S. NATIONALS PROMOTION

GLENDORA, Calif. (Aug. 17, 2009) – Fans of NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series in the state of Indiana will have the opportunity to participate in a special discount offer for admission to the 55th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals presented by Lucas Oil, Sept. 2-7 at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis.

Beginning Aug. 18, up to 155 participating Indiana McDonald’s restaurants will feature commemorative cups with the image of NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series driver Ashley Force Hood. Besides becoming “must-have” collector items, the cups will provide a $7 discount for any adult general admission ticket on any day of the world’s most prestigious drag race, the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals presented by Lucas Oil. Fans must present the cup to the O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis box office to obtain their ticket discount.

To support the program, the Series’ title sponsor, Full Throttle Energy Drink, will be arranging a series of special driver appearances. Headlining the promotion is Ashley Force Hood, driver of the Castrol GTX Ford Mustang. Force Hood began her career in 2007 and last year became the first female driver to win an NHRA Funny Car event when she beat her father, legendary NHRA driver John Force, in the final round in Atlanta. She has one win this season and is currently third in the NHRA Full Throttle Series point standings. Specific times and locations for driver appearances will be announced in the future.

The 2009 Mac Tools U.S. Nationals presented by Lucas Oil will feature all professional and sportsman classes during the six-day marathon event. NHRA estimates more than 1,000 race cars will be on-site for what is the longest-running event on the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series circuit.

Whether fans are long-time supporters or first-time attendees, each day of the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals offers a variety of activities. Besides the racing on the fabled drag strip, every ticket is a pit pass allowing fans to get up-close-and-personal with their favorite professional and sportsman drivers. In addition, NHRA’s Nitro Alley offers a variety of fan-interactive displays and the NHRA Speed Shop, a showcase of the parts and pieces used by the professional and sportsman race teams, is a must-see for any serious hot rod enthusiast.

For more details on the promotion, visit a participating Indiana McDonald’s location beginning Aug. 18, while supplies last.
