A lot of hype has surrounded the new 2010 Ford Mustang and it’s debut into the world of factory door slammer Pro Stock competition. Thanks to all of the Blue Oval faithful, the new 2010 Mustang will be considered the best body available for Pro Stock competition. Outside of the 500 inch world lives and breathes a different sort of racer and a different sort of performance minded, adrenaline producing, mountain motor induced, pavement pounding, naturally aspirated king of the strip. IHRA Mountain Motor Pro Stock is where many of today’s icons got their start and is where you will find many of today’s best drivers, tuners, and teams to ever twist jets in and out of a carb.
Over the past couple of years Aronson Motorsports has been starting down a new road back into the world of IHRA Pro Stock. Many people know of Chuck Aronson’s success in the early days of Mountain Motor racing, and his continued support of Ford. Chuck was one of the first to utilize a Jon Kaase 707 Hemi engine that what we now see today is based upon. Cale Aronson has been working hard to push the Aronson Motorsports entries further and deeper into the pack with older equipment so that when the time was right, they could work on a more full scale assault. Before their current venture in Pro Stock, Cale was running a highly competitive 698 inch Kaase engine in the outrageous 10.5W Outlaw classes, where he remains the only person to win a national event without the use of a single power adder. The time has come for Aronson Motorsports to continue to align themselves with the goals of Ford Racing and the new Mustang, to bring the new 2010 Mustang out into Pro Stock utilizing a Jon Kaase built 820+ inch Mountain Motor.
Jerry Haas Race Cars is currently underway on the building of the new 2010 Mustang that Cale will be piloting next season. With help from many sponsors including long time friend Mark Walser, and companies like Ford Racing, DJ Safety, UPR Products, Penske Racing Shocks, ORME Bros., RAM Clutches, and many more, they are working to put the right touches on the new pony.
“We have been working over the past couple seasons to get our so called ducks in a row. We have never been fortunate enough to just simply buy our way into where we want, and have always had to think out the best and most logical ways to be competitive with what we have. I can’t thank both Jon Kaase and Jerry Haas enough for their help over the past two seasons. We were running with an older car, and older engine, but managed to run fairly well. I am looking forward to having some much needed updated equipment. Ford Racing has worked with us a lot and continues to be a driving force behind our operation. I want to really thank Jesse Kershaw and Brian Wolfe at Ford Racing for their continued support an help!” - Cale Aronson
When asked if they planned on attending any events this season, Cale simply stated “that they were planning only to test this fall and be ready for next season, as it is highly important for the new Mustang to have all of it’s hooves on the ground and charging hard when we put the reigns to it!”
