MORRISON, Colo. — NHRA and Bandimere Speedway are partnering with NoCo Rebuilding Network in an effort to help those affected by the recent Colorado wildfires, it was announced today by both organizations.
NoCo Rebuilding Network, which supports sustainable rebuilding and recovery by raising funds that are distributed directly to those affected by natural disasters, will be onsite at the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals on Saturday and Sunday of the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series event, which runs July 20-22.
“Our hearts go out to those affected by the wildfires this season,” said John Bandimere, Bandimere Speedway. “It has been a challenging year for those who lost property, as well as for the firefighters and support staff. Our hope would be the fundraising effort provides monetary relief, as well as emotional and spiritual encouragement.”
Popular Denver radio show host Willie B. will be broadcasting live from the event those two days and fans can stop by the KBPI booth in the NHRA Nitro Alley and make a donation to the relief effort. Each person who donates a minimum of $2 will receive a raffle ticket that provides an opportunity to win a 1958 Dodge Royal that was donated to the relief effort by Willie B. All fan donations will go to the NoCo Rebuilding Network’s fundraising efforts for the Colorado wildfires.
On Sunday, Colorado State University head football coach Jim McElwain will make a special appearance at Bandimere Speedway to participate in pre-race ceremonies for the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals to talk about the disaster relief efforts and encourage fans to help.
“Along with Bandimere Speedway, we are pleased to be able to partner with NoCo Rebuilding Network for this very important fundraising event during the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals to assist those who were affected by the recent wildfires,” said Peter Clifford, executive vice president and general manager, NHRA.
