The iconic status of the Ford Mustang can be attributed to several major factors, including its lasting hallmarks of great looks and performance combined with affordability -- as well as it's starring roles on the big screen. But, for enthusiasts who have nurtured this image, the legend of Mustang began on the racetrack and grew quickly over four decades of dominating performances.

You don't have to chase around to sense these thrills
But you just don't watch a drag race, you breathe and feel it. Try inhaling the Nitro fumes as the cars idle at the Christmas tree and then feel the percussion in your chest as they "light the candles" and blast down the track and see if you don't agree.

Why Is Gary Densham Leaving John Force Racing?
Gary Densham is one of the most likable guys in drag racing. Densham defies the misnomer that nice guys finish last. After toiling with shoestring budgets and inferior equipment for years, Densham was approached in 2001 by John Force to drive a third Funny Car. Since joining Force, Densham has won eight races including the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals this season. So after all his success, why is Densham leaving John Force Racing to run his own team again?
