Red River Flashback: Super Street
In the late 1990s, Hot Rod Magazine/NSCA racing Super Street was a booming class. The best elasped times were in the high sevens and chassis did not require 25.1 certification. This kept car counts high until rising costs drove most racers away.

Draglist.com gets tons of visitors, but we haven't been counting them all. That's because we've been hosting our 10,000 links on the LinksManager server. It works great, but our overall hit count (very important to advertisers) doesn't show those visits coming to draglist.com. Today we fixed that by moving all 10,000 links to the draglist.com server. Click the link to see the same great links pages with a new address (and yes, there really are over 10,000 links -- the actual count was 10,796 as of a few minutes ago). We STILL do not count our message board hits in our page view totals. Placing our links pages under draglist.com will provide a truer picture of where we rank among the world's top racing sites.

What was scheduled as one of the largest gatherings of classic Funny Cars in the Southeast was washed out over the July 9-10 weekend as racers and about 3,000 spectators felt the effects of Hurricane Dennis. It would have been a good show, with nearly a dozen antique, refurbished and rebuilt '70s-era Funny Cars showing up to do battle. The Southeastern Dragway pits were awash even before the final time runs for Super Pro brackets were completed. The race has been rescheduled for August 6.

2005 York US 30 Reunion Photos
Jason, Bill, and Emily Pratt attended the 2005 York Musclecar Madness show. It was great to see so many old friends. We grabbed Denise's digital as we walked out the door, but didn't realize there were a ton of shots on the memory stick already. We killed a few that we knew we didn't need, but there were some shots on there that couldn't be sacrificed... so we are left with about 10 to 15 shots and the hope that the REAL photogs who were there send us some cool stuff...

Everything I know about racing I learned in one afternoon with Nicole Lyons, and I was surprised at how much that ended up to be. The technical areas aside, I think the most important aspect a driver must have is what I came away with understanding. You must have passion for your dreams so strong that nothing will come between you and what you were meant to do in this life.

In my younger and more volatile years, my father gave me a piece of advice that I've been turning over in my mind at 6,000 revolutions a minute ever since. 'If it floats or flies,' he said in his reserved but unusually communicative way, 'lease it.' So on the fortnight before Father's Day, I endeavored to do dearly departed Dad one better by having myself invited for a free ride on a Cigarette.
